Position Your Mic Where It Actually Sounds Best
A Cleaner Desk, On and Off Camera
Built for More Than Lightweight Mics
Our Take
The LPA1 makes the most sense if video is part of your podcast, livestream or recording workflow. Its biggest advantage isn't simply that it holds a microphone—it is the ability to position the mic properly while keeping the arm lower and less intrusive in a camera shot.
For an audio-only desk where appearance doesn't matter, a conventional arm such as the RØDE PSA1+ may be equally practical and actually offers greater maximum reach. But if you're building a polished YouTube podcast, interview setup or streamer desk, we'd choose the LPA1 for its lower visual profile and higher 2kg load capacity. The PSA1+ supports up to 1.2kg and reaches farther, while the LPA1 supports substantially heavier mounted equipment.
For a small USB microphone that rarely moves, you may not need to spend this much—a simple desktop stand can be sufficient.
