The most important thing to understand is that this is not simply a larger version of SmallRig's basic Pocket cage. The Extended Version exists mainly for users who want to rig the camera while using the Battery Handle.

We would recommend it if you're adding a second handle, microphone, video light or other accessories and want a more controlled handheld setup. The NATO rails are particularly useful because they make side-handle configurations much faster to build and dismantle.

If you're keeping your Pocket setup very compact and normally shoot without the Battery Handle, the SmallRig Basic Cage 6002 is likely the cleaner choice. If you specifically want tripod, magnetic-surface and tabletop mounting from one accessory, SmallRig's 6003 Mount Support is another option worth comparing.
