Rental Terms & Conditions
1. General
These Rental Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern all rental transactions between Red Dot Photo (“Company”) and the renter (“Customer”). By renting any equipment from the Company, the Customer agrees to be bound by the terms stated herein.
The Company reserves the right to refuse any rental request at its sole discretion without obligation to provide any reason.

2. Eligibility & Verification
The Company may require any of the following before approving a rental:
* NRIC / FIN / Passport
* Proof of residential address
* Company UEN / Business registration
* Social media or professional profile verification
* Valid mobile number verification
* Credit card verification
* Emergency contact information
The Customer confirms that all information provided is accurate and valid.
Any false, misleading, or fraudulent information may result in immediate cancellation of the rental agreement and legal action.

3. Rental Period
The rental period begins upon collection or delivery of the equipment and ends only when the equipment is returned and accepted by the Company.
Late returns may affect subsequent bookings and business operations.
The Company reserves the right to charge additional rental fees for late returns.

4. Late Return Charges
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
* Late returns exceeding 1 hour may incur additional charges.
* Late returns exceeding 4 hours may be charged as an additional full rental day.
* Failure to return equipment within 24 hours without prior approval may be treated as unlawful retention of property.
The Company reserves the right to initiate legal action and/or file a police report for unreturned equipment.

5. Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit may be required before release of any equipment.
The amount of deposit required shall be determined solely by the Company.
The security deposit:
* Does not represent the total liability of the Customer.
* Does not limit the Customer’s responsibility for loss or damage.
* May be retained partially or fully for unpaid fees, damages, missing accessories, cleaning, repair costs, or replacement costs.
The Company reserves the right to request additional deposits for:
* First-time renters
* High-value equipment
* Foreign customers
* High-risk usage scenarios
* Festival / weekend periods

6. Condition of Equipment
All equipment is deemed to be in good working condition upon release unless otherwise stated.
The Customer is responsible for inspecting the equipment upon collection.
Any issues must be reported immediately before use.
Failure to report defects upon collection shall be deemed acceptance of the equipment condition.

7. Customer Responsibility
The Customer shall:
* Exercise reasonable care when using the equipment
* Operate equipment only in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
* Ensure proper storage and transport
* Keep equipment protected from theft, impact, water, sand, excessive heat, humidity, smoke, and hazardous environments
The Customer shall not:
* Sub-rent or transfer equipment to third parties
* Modify or disassemble equipment
* Use equipment for illegal purposes
* Use equipment underwater unless explicitly approved
* Mount equipment in dangerous or reckless ways

8. Damage, Loss & Theft
The Customer assumes full responsibility for any loss, theft, damage, or destruction of the equipment during the rental period.
This includes but is not limited to:
* Water damage
* Sand or dust contamination
* Fungus or moisture damage
* Physical impact or drop damage
* Scratches and dents
* Broken mounts or ports
* Cracked screens or lenses
* Missing accessories
* Damaged memory card slots
* Battery swelling or misuse
* Damage caused by negligence or improper handling
In the event of loss, theft, or irreparable damage, the Customer shall compensate the Company based on the current replacement value determined solely by the Company.
Replacement cost may include:
* Retail replacement value
* Taxes and import costs
* Shipping fees
* Repair charges
* Administrative costs
* Loss of rental income during downtime
The Company reserves the right to charge the Customer immediately for such losses.

9. Inspection Upon Return
All returned equipment is subject to inspection.
Return acceptance at the counter does not constitute final confirmation that the equipment is free from damage.
The Company reserves up to 48 hours after return to conduct a full inspection and functionality check.
Any hidden or operational defects discovered during inspection may still be chargeable to the Customer.

10. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
Rental bookings may require advance payment.
Unless otherwise agreed:
* Cancellations within 48 hours of the booking date may be non-refundable.
* No-show bookings may result in forfeiture of deposit and booking fees.
The Company reserves the right to cancel bookings due to unforeseen circumstances, equipment failure, or operational reasons.

11. Limitation of Liability
The Company shall not be liable for:
* Loss of data
* Production delays
* Missed shoots
* Business interruption
* Indirect or consequential damages
* Compatibility issues with third-party equipment
The Customer is responsible for testing all equipment before actual production use.

12. Insurance
For high-value rentals, the Company may require proof of production insurance.
The Customer is encouraged to obtain adequate insurance coverage for rented equipment.

13. Ownership
All rented equipment remains the sole property of Red Dot Photo at all times.
The Customer acquires no ownership rights through rental.
Failure to return equipment may result in civil and/or criminal proceedings.

14. Collection of Personal Information
The Company may collect and retain identification documents, photographs, contact details, and transaction records for verification, fraud prevention, operational, insurance, and legal purposes.

15. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
Any disputes arising from this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

16. Acknowledgement
By proceeding with the rental, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms stated above.

Recommended First-Time Customer Restrictions
For first-time renters, consider:
* Restricting high-value rentals
* Higher deposit requirements
* Shorter rental durations
* No overseas usage
* No weekend-only rentals
* Mandatory ID verification
* Mandatory selfie with ID
* Social profile verification

Strong Recommendation
Avoid relying solely on deposits.
Deposits reduce financial exposure but do not adequately prevent fraud.
Customer verification and risk screening are significantly more important than deposit amount alone.
