Generally, original lenses the best :P I heard Sigma's 24-70 is very good; and besides, you get 4mm more on the wide range compared to the Tamron!
Hi, recently I feel like getting a fast zoom lens to add on to my lens collection. I was thinking of this 3 lenses,
Sigma 24-70 F2.8
Sony 24-70cz F2.8
Tamron 28-75 F2.8
I want to know which one would be better for budget user. Cause I know the the 2470cz is very expensive. so is Sigma's 24-70 good??.. or the tamron's 28-75 is better?..
I am using Sony btw...
Comments and recommendation appreciated...
thanks..

I will highly recommend buying Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC Macro as a walk-about lens. It is very sharp and gives a good wide and sufficient zoom for many street photo situations.
I think if u'r using cropped camera...a 17 or 18mm to XXmm zoom will be better.
Unless you're using A850 or A900...then get the best 24-70, which I think Sigma should have the lead for quailty versus price.
If money is no issue, then get the CZ!! How much is the CZ and where can one find it?
I can get the 2470CZ at sony style at wisma atria, cathayphoto. Cathayphoto should have a better price than Sony I guess?? Because at Sony it is S$ 3,099.00. According to the Old birds that are using Sony CathayPhoto is cheaper.

Neither. Save your money and buy the Nikon version. Also, fitting the whole zoom range in one lens is not good for the optics. These lenses are not considered to be some of the sharpest. Usually at the far end of the zoom, the lens is deficient, even at smaller apertures. You are better off with the 18-55mm. Read some reviews at photo graphs review If you have to buy another brand that is not Nikon.
Usually 3rd party lenses are slighly inferior to the original and at both the extreme ends of zoom range, one will get some degree of barrel distortion (wide end) and pin-cushion distortion (tele end).
I don't think the original kit 18-55 is better than any of the lenses that Threadstarter has mentioned though!

i would also go with the sigma! and how can a kitlens vs a fast lens?!
