I think Swivel screen is coming back!! This 60D is the last of the Canon line to have a HD recording capabilities, and first to have the swivel screen!
Only Nikon D5000, some Sony DSLRs have swivel screen so far?
The rumors are true - the successor to the medium-tier Canon DSLR 50D has been officially announced by Canon.
The Canon 60D boasts 18megapixels, with full HD recording and a slew of other tricks in the bag including a swivel screen. The 60D is the last in line of the Canon camera series to have the full HD 1080p recording. (after the 5D Mark II, Canon 500D/550D, Canon 7D, Canon 1D mark IV). Now the full range of Canon cameras have the HD recording capabilities (sans the 1000D category), new functions include the swivel LCD and in-camera raw processing. Other than the HD and swivel LCD, this offers few major improvements over the predecessor, the Canon 50D.
Perhaps Canon is afraid to get into the 7D's market if more 'high-end' features are added into the 60D.

Actually I think Swivel Screen for DSLRs are long overdue. Only Olympus had it at the start, until the D5000 came in with it, and now Canon has it too. Swivel screens are really useful but it is not clear why it took so long for them to come over from compacts to DSLRs.

thought its rather overrated!

To me it more like a downgrade from 50D...

looks like canon failed hahah!
