Fighting Spiders Season 2 back on Channel 5: Shot on Canon EOS 7D High Definition

The sequel to the popular local production, Fighting Spiders, will be back on Channel 5 on the 12th August 2010! Being the first local production shot mostly on the Canon EOS 7D, photographers and videographers will be eager to see for themselves the outcome of the very first production in Singapore shot in High Definition!

Red Dot Photo had the privilege in February to attend one of the filming of Fighting Spiders. Here're some shots.

Fighting spiders: Caught bits of it last night. The bokeh was nice, but Mediacorp downsized it to non-high definition (HD) format. It was show in widescreen format and hence it was good for Television sets with 16:9 format. Channel 5 HD should have shown it in HD format, it is bizarre why they decided not to do so.

It really is quite dumb to show nonHD format in widescreen haha :P Those with SD 4:3 will see squashed pictures. Nowadays we have a halfway house; some shows in 4:3 some in 16:9. Those with widescreen TVs can adjust their TVs to suit 4:3, but those with 4:3 cannot adjust.

Mediacorp should simply show everything in 4:3 so that everyone can view content correctly.

Caught an episode. Don't really like their storytelling or the actors and their cheesy lines, but yes the videography is quite good!
