Comparing Nissin Di866 to Nikon SB900 - Which is better for the buck?

Hey guys, just wondering about this for awhile. Another thing is that for the aperture priority mode, the SB900 has a range of 1-64, but the Di866 only has a range of 1.4-16 f stops. Does this really matter much?

Assuming I read you correctly and you mean the "manual mode" of the flash, The 1/16 to 1/64 range is only used when you have very high ISO or are using very large apertures or are very close to the subject; such that you need such fine tuning of light at such low levels.

Hmm, meant to say that at aperture mode, sb900 can set the range from f1-f64 (not the speed of flash 1/64, etc...). Whereas the di866 only has f1-f16. How is comparison of the two flashes btw, thanks.

The question then is whether you need to use f32 to f64 on your lens; in fact your lens may not even have f64 in the first place! I think the difference is negligible.
