Cos XLR connectors take up helluva lot of space on a small videocam, and usually balanced doesn't make much of a difference on short cable runs (from on-cam hotshoe mic to socket as most lower lvl pple do); balanced usually is a priority on longer cable runs.

yup, the twisted pair on XLR cable will do noise cancellation which resulted in better signal attenuation, thus better sound quality. This is very important for audio feed. XLR port allow you to use high quality condenser microphone which requires phantom 48V, that's the important part.

Yup as I said, noise is usually only an issue with long cable runs. Phantom power is separate issue liaoz; again its whether such high end eqpt will be used with such lower end cams.

dpreview confirmed NEX-VG10 will be using 14M censor, however, the mosiac sensor contains 50% Green, 25% Red, 25% Blue, 14M / 4 is about 3.5M only.
Panasoic HWC41EU has 3 Cmos, each delivering 2.2M effective pixels, 2.2M X 3 = 6.6M. Expect NEX-VG10 to be softer than full raster 3 sensor camcorders.

What is the exact price of this camcorder and is there any coupon code available for discount.
