    Hi Genesis,

There are 2 inherent ways to trigger the Di866 mark 2 via wireless methods.

One is via optically, you'll need to set the flash to 'wireless', optically 'digitally' receiving, and use the pop-up flash on your 450D to trigger the Di866 mark 2

The second method is via IR trigger, this options will enable ETTL on your flash. On the flash, one can set channel 1/2/3/4 and group A/B/C. However, the 450D is unable to trigger the Di866 this way. Currently only the Canon 60D and 7D has built-in capabilities to trigger flashes wirelessly this way. Other methods to have ETTL is to use TTL triggers such as Phottix Odin or Pixel King ,Canon ST-E2 or another commander flash such as the Canon 580EX2 or a second Nissin Di866 Mark 2
