Canon has just launched a new addition to its prosumer line of cameras — it’s new G1 X, not to be confused with the Panasonic GX 1 hybrid systems, is a grown up version of the G12. The G1 X’s sensor is a whopping 18.7 x 14mm. That's just 20% smaller than Canon’s APS-C standard (27.9 x 18.6mm) and 16% larger than the sensors used in Four Thirds systems, giving most cameras which share its form factor a run for their money.

With an expected RRP of USD$799, this is for the shooter who is looking for the a camera with an IQ close to a mid-range DSLR as it gets, but without the bulk and the hassle.
