Sigma has released version II of its 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM superzoom lens. The latest version adds Sigma's FLD glass, the 'fluorite-like' glass co-developed with Hoya and features a revised design (it now features a narrower body and 18 elements in 14 groups, rather than the 13 groups of its predecessor). For fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus, the lens adds Sigma's HyperSonic Motor (HSM) autofocus motor, similar to Canon's USM and Nikon's SWM implementations in their lenses.

Could this be the new king of superzooms?

    Specifications:
Lens Construction: 18 elements in 14 groups
Angle of View: 76.5 to 8.1 degrees
Number of blades: 7 blade rounded-diaphragm
    Max Aperture: f/3.5-6.3
    Min Aperture: f/22
    Min Focusing Distance: 45cm
    Max Magnification: 1:3.8
    Dimensions: 75.3mm x 87.7mm (W x L)
    Weight: 490g

The lens will be available for Canon, Nikon, Sigma, Pentax and Sony systems (without optical stabilization on the last two mounts). More updates to come when local pricing is available!

Not to my knowledge, though at a glance from far away this could look somewhat like an L!
