nude images, what is 'artistic nude' and - can we post them online?

The practice seems to be photographers posting naked images of women on imageshack, photobucket, flickr and linking them via locally hosted platforms. Any indication say if I have a local blog based a local host and hosting nude images?

Secondly, most people will concur that the line is fine between artistic nude and porn, but what is that line and how would that impact the posting and legality of the posting?

Regarding the 2nd part, when i started photography a while back, i remember someone told me this. Artistic nude have nice lighting and is can see cannot see the subject. When the subject is lighted up bright bright and can see everything clearly, its porn. Not sure how many people will agree with this.

What we usually see on nude photography is that the face is not seen. It is either the face is darken or the head is not in the frame at all, the lighting for the photo is of a nice angle . I guess this is the concept that people got their idea od nude photography is

Actually, that's not exactly true. The reason you see alot of nude photography without faces is because the model do not give consent for their face to be seen. It depends on the terms and conditions agreed on between the photographer and model. Nude photography is usually abstract and we do funny effects on lighting and use funny scenery, depending on the photographer's idea.

Yah, can see cannot see face shouldn't be the factor to decide; perhaps it is whether it is considered "artistic" or "crude"?
