Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 L Fisheye Previewed!

Canonrumors.com reports that the EF 8-15mm f/4 L Fisheye has been sighted in the wild! It's one of the most highly-anticipated lenses this year. One of the only lenses that let's you achieve a full-frame fisheye across all sensor sizes in Canon's lineup, expect a lot of creative shots to come out from this unique lens.

According to Canon, diffierent focal lengths on the lens will allow for full-frame, 180-degree field-of-view across different sensor sizes, as seen in the diagram above. A zoom-lock mechanism on the lens body allows the range to be limited to the focal length that ensures the best possible full-frame view without unsightly vignetting around the edge. 'C' and 'H' markings can be found next to the zoom operation ring, indicating the wide-angle zoom position where vignette-free shooting is possible with either sensor. This is especially exciting for crop-sensor users, as this lens can give you an accurate 180-degree fisheye instead of the cropped and less fish-eye-ish photos of normal fisheye lenses. One fisheye to rule them all, as it were.
Expect it to go on sale for about S$1800 or so. Do check in at our Canon lens price guide regularly for the latest updates!
