    Sony E mount

Sony has announce a new mirrorless system for camera with changeable lenses. I can't call it DSLR...since it doesn't have a mirror.

E mount is using full digital signals instead of the half mechanical type inherited from Minolta. If Sony were to design a camcorder based on E mount, Video DSLRs like 5d mark II and 7D will have a tough day. Without the mirror, sony is definitely able to design a much more efficient auto focus system for camcorder with large sensors. What I mean by camcorder is that, it will come with XLR port, Zebra, Gamma and other controls.

E mount lens is made of metal, looks delicious too

The E mount NEX series have been announced, it should be out for sale soon. Looks very tempting and it is better than the Olympus PEN

E-mount is interesting, I wonder how the big boys Canon and Nikon will react to this 'new segment'.

m4/3 is in the lead now with a good standard to allow Panasonic/Olympus users to use each other's lenses.

E mount has the largest diameter, bigger than EF mount. It has been reported there are companies working on the converter ring for Nikon and Canon with aperture control.
