Problem with Nissin DI622 Mark 2's Startup ( need help )

    recently i just bought a new 622 Mark 2.
i noticed that when i turn in on , the loading time take forever.
the pilot red LED never turn Green, occasionally it does and its random.
i tried turning on and off and kept trying for a week already but still it wont work.

Theres nothing wrong with the batteries, cos they are brand new,
i am not sure what is the cause of the problem.
I've owned a few flashed previously, but this is my first time encountering this.

i know normally we have to let it warm up but it seems like the flash is faulty now.
I never dropped it before and it is still in mint condition.

    What could be the problem?

    Can someone enlighten me?
    Thanks

    Hi,

It could be batteries or the circuit.

To test batteries, if you have an analyser (for eg: Maha C9000), it'll be able to reveal if any of the batteries are faulty. A regular charger shows only 'green'/'red' LED light etc.
Else if you have another flash, you can load these batteries into the other flash to see if you can power up. What batteries are you using anyway?

If it's not a batteries issue, then it'll most likely be a circuit issue and you'll need to bring it to the Nissin service center.

    i am using GP battery.
    the usual AA batteries.

Is it that i must use those special batteries in order for the flash to work?

    Are they Rechargeables or Akalines?

thanks guys for ur help and attention.

i've just received the flash back from the workshop @ 20 bendemeer road.
i send it for repair since its still under warranty,
the problem was caused by a faulty circuit board.

    nothing to do with batteries.
for others who face the same problem, contact the person under the warranty card.
