Sony NEX-FS100 NXCAM Interchangeable-Lens E-mount Camcorder
Sony announces their latest line which is the advanced version of the NXCAM concepts and professional versions of the NEX-VG10 camcorders. It comes with an E-Mount (similar to the NEX and the NEX-VG10) and is fronted by an Exmor Super 35mm CMOS sensor.
The NEX-FS100 features a detachable 3.5-inch LCD display, a pair of XLR inputs and is capable of shooting in full HD 1920 x 1080 60P at 28Mbps.
The 18-200mm F3.5-F6.3 E-Mount lens that comes with the NEX-FS100 features optical SteadyShot zoom, autofocus. It also comes with a lens adapter so other lens of different mounts can also be used.
The Sony NEX-FS100 NXCAM Super 35 camcorder enables HDMI output with Embedded Time code for 4:2:2, and offers simultaneous recording to an optional HXR-FMU128 flash memory unit and an SD card or Memory stick, providing instant backup for peace of mind.
The Sony NEX-FS100 NXCAM Super 35 digital camcorder is listed at the price of USD$5,880 without lens (model: NEX-FS100U), or USD$6,550 with lens (model: NEX-FS100UK). It is scheduled to be available in U.S during Summer 2011.
