The newly announced Canon EOS 1100D is another great addition to Canon’s entry-level line-up.
Its features seem to build upon the 1000D model, making the new 1100D more price-competitive and packed with new and cutting-edge features that make advanced imaging easy to be achieved.
Key features:
• 12MP CMOS sensor
• 9-point AF system
• 63-area iFCL color-sensitive metering
• 720p movie recording at 30 or 25fps (H.264 compression)
• 2.7" LCD, 230,000 dots
• ISO 100-6400 (no expansion)
• Basic+ creative point-and-shoot mode
• Eye-Fi wireless SD card compatible menu options
• On-screen Feature Guide
Various features in one compact body

• Easy to carry around, allowing scenes to be captured easily.
LCD Screen
• 2.7” LCD screen has a sharp 230k-dot resolution and wide viewing angle.
Sensor, ISO and Focus
• Similar to the other entry-level models before it, the 1100D has a 12.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100-6400 and 3fps continuous shooting.
• It also has 9-point autofocus, which is an increment from the 7-point autofocus on the 1000D, and 63 zone metering systems.
User-friendliness
• A Feature Guide in the camera’s menu offers information on the camera’s functions, helping beginners use these functions and enhancing their photography skills.
Basic+ and Creative Auto
• Help to set automatic settings and apply creative effects to the final image.
• Basic+ adjusts the exposure, white balance and image processing settings automatically while in scene-based modes.
• This makes it easier for users to achieve their desired image output.
• Creative Auto automatically adjusts settings, which easily creates blurred background to achieve desired creative effects to photos.
Video recording
• HD recording (1280x720p) at 30 and 25 fps, with movie shooting function on mode dial.
Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO)
• Analyses the image and adjusts the brightness accordingly, to achieve a more evenly exposed photo.
Convenient file-sharing system
• Able to shoot and instantly share images and HD videos directly from the camera.
• Eye-Fi Connected Functions: users can wirelessly transfer their images to a home PC or directly upload images and videos to an online sharing account like the CANON iMAGE GATEWAY or Flickr.
