Olympus — amidst the rising tide of mirrorless systems — has revived it’s legacy OM SLR line and released a tank of a camera that is the Olympus OM-D EM5.
With 40 years of legacy behind its OM cameras, Olympus is returning to a formula that they are familiar with — cameras that look good and perform under difficult situations. Its Olympus Digital E-series were a far cry from the Olympus OM-x SLRs (with the exception of the well-built E-5), which were known for their legendary hardiness and were built during a time where the onus of image quality rested not on the camera but on the lens and the film used. Right now Olympus claims that their OMD series are weather sealed throughout, including its accessories i.e. external flashes, vertical grips, lenses.
