Hi everyone, Which would be the best remote trigger for me - the Strato or the Atlas. Will both trigger the 420EX flash and also the Sekonic L-358 fitted with the RT-32 Radio triggering module Would welcome advice and suggestions please - thank you
978 The Phottix Strato: it can trigger hot shoe flash, studio strobes, act as both a wired and wireless remote trigger. Following the successful launch of the Phottix Tetra, Phottix Aster and recently the pocket wizard 'killer', the Phottix Altas, Phottix has been continuing to be the no.1 brand to set the standard for flash/remote triggers. This time round, the Phottix Strato 2.4Ghz 4 in 1 Wireless Trigger. The 4-channel, 2.4 GHz Strato 4 in 1 Wireless Trigger boasts ranges of 100 meters...
Introduction 6822 For the longest time, photographers who wanted to take their TTL flash triggers off-camera only had a few real options. On one hand, you have Pocket Wizards, the industry standard for wireless flash - rock-solid reliability, great range, and a 'great' price tag of over S$500. On the other hand, you have TTL cords that let you 'tether' your flash - reliable, relatively cheap (typically less than S$100), but with a working range limited to that of the length of the cable....
Can I use the phottix stratos trigger with linkstar flashes (with a pc-syncro cable, of course)? Thanks.
Hello, could I use this combination without any problem? Regards.
Hi Am wondering if anyone else know of this problem. My grip drains my original D90 batteries in 4-5 days even when camera is off. It doesn't do so when used without the grip. Of course I could remove the grip when in storage but I normally do not do so when travelling. Any remedies? Jim
The Strato Mark 2 transmitter can trigger both the new and old Strato receivers while the Strato Mark 1 can trigger only the old Strato Mark 1 receiver.
I just received my Phottix Stratos set with an additional receiver. The receivers work fine with my SB-600, but neither one will work with both flashes mentioned above. The flashes do "react" to the triggering...the little red light blinks...but no flash. What am I doing wrong? Thank you, Stewart
Phottix has just launch the New Strato II ! http://flashraw.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/phottix-strato-multi-flash-trigger-1883.jpg The Strato II Multi offers four groups (A, B, C and D) and extended range to the already impressive functions of the original Phottix Strato. Four groups combined with four wireless channels allow photographers an incredible amount of control on location or in the studio. Sixteen or more hot shoe flashes or studio strobes – ready to be used at the push...
The above will not work. The Phottix Universal Cord TTL is compatible with Canon/Nikon/Fuji systems.
I had strato for sometimes.....but only recently I tried using it to shoot flight shots of Sunbirds wirelessly but it just refused to work with my high speed burst shots....instead only one shot at a time ? How am I going to get sunbirds flight shot with a single shot at a time ??? Or strato dont actually work work this way ??...
We're currently expecting Phottix Battery grip for Nikon D3100 (BP-D3100) and Canon EOS 60D (BP-60D) by the end of this year! Do keep an eye on this portal for the latest news and updates!! Update: Currently, the dates are postponed. Do stay tuned for the latest updates!!
Wonder if any of the above will be out soon?
Is the Stratos with TTL passthrough compatible with the Nikon D40X ? It doesn't appear in the model selection list in the Phottix shop. The slaves will be Nikon sB-600's, so no drama there, But as the D40X has no input socket, so it's relying on hot shoe compatibility.
As above, does any manufacturer make wired remote for Nikon D3100?

Hi everyone, I am planning to get a Phottix Atlas and I just wanted to know if the Phottix Atlas can trigger the Phottix Aster Receiver? Thanks,
Hi. I'm aware that this trigger is specially suited for flashes with TTL capability hence there's different models for different camera systems. Would like to know if the transmitter and receiver will still work (without the TTL capability) like say: 1) I place a Canon receiver on a Nikon body or vice versa. 2) Can I use a Nikon(as an example) Transmitter on a Nikon body to trigger a Canon receiver or vice versa? Working with my friend very often and sharing lighting equipment but we...
Looking for option to buy Battery charger(lost the charger) for my Canon 300D, may I know if you have ready stock for the charger and the battery too. Thanks.
Can the Phottix Aster be used with Yongguo YN560?
1) Can transmitter for Canon trigger receiver for Nikon and vice versa? Answer is yes! They work on the same frequency and as long as you're in the same channel, they'll work! 2) Can a Nikon flash be put onto the Canon receiver and vice versa? Yes! The flash on a receiver is basically triggered by the center pin and this flash will have to be in manual mode (NOT master nor slave!) 3) 2nd curtain sync of the receiver
The use of hot shoe flashes has gotten super-popular thanks to David Hobby, Joe McNally and Zack Arias. As great as flashes are there are times when you need a little more power. AC studio lights need mains power – a possible drawback if you’re on location. Phottix introduces the PPL-200 and PPL-400 Portable Studio Strobes. These 200W and 400W strobes, complete with rechargeable power packs, let you take bigger lights “on the road.” Phottix PPL-400 1300 The Phottix PPL-400...
hi, may I know wad are e qualities of this UV? Any performance tests done on it and results compare to Hoya HMC UV(C) ? Are they digital as in e surface reflection is low? cos e price of it is very near to the Hoya HMC.
Bro, what is the difference between this 2? If I already own the atlas, do I still need the strato? I'm really noob in this flash/strobe thing. Thankx. :o
The above combination should be suitable, do note that the flash will have to be in manual mode Only the Phottix Strato will have TTL through the transmitter (if your Yong Nuo flash is meant for Canon).
Qn: Im using a canon 40D. Are we able to chose the battery source at any point of time if I connect a battery grip? 1. from battery grip 2. from camera 3. from battery grip and camera. Last but not least, is there a way to charge all the 3 batteries at 1 go? Or I must charge the batteries individually?
The answer is Yes, The Phottix Cleon II wireless/wired remote 'O6' will work for Olympus E420/E410/E510/E520/E620 etc. A flash can also be mounted onto the hot shoe (receiver of the Cleon II not on the hotshoe), and the flash will trigger too.
Would like to ask you abt the Phottix Geo One. How long would it take to drain the batt from the camera if this device is turned on?(both with a one batt and 2 batt battery grip system) Does it have a power saving mode or smth like tt in which i do not have to warm up the device before taking a picture? Also how long is the processing time in between each shot?
The above answer is yes. For the EX550, you'll get TTL functions. Do note that the Phottix Universal TTL cord duo can trigger two flashes at the same time, with more details at http://www.reddotphoto.com.sg/ecommerce/viewproducts.php?pid=224&catid=15 Another possible setup using two flashes would be: using the PC Sync output from a camera (for eg, from a Canon 7D) to trigger one flash and at the same time using the TTL cord duo to trigger another flash unit.
Only Phottix LPE6 (for Canon 5D2 and 7D) cannot be charged using the original chargers. All other batteries by Phottix for Canon, Nikon, Sony etc can be charged using original chargers. Edit: Do note that current Phottix LPE6 batteries won't show any battery indication as original batteries have a chipped embedded. It'll show that the battery cannot communicate'. Simply choose ok and you're good to go. There will not be any battery indication. When the battery is almost finished, the battery...
