  3. Lightbulb Double Exposure or Strobist Tech?

Spotted this on Petapixel: 7007 Fancy double exposure or strobist technique? Is it even possible for a strobist technique to produce this given that: Technically, you can only shoot from one side of the window/glass surface, because there is a city, and presumably, only air on the other side.

6939 A riot erupted outside a D&G store in HK -- after a security guard stopped a local from taking pictures of their store front, while apparently allowing Mainland Chinese free license with their cameras according to AFP. Newspaper clipping a bit blurry, but you get the gist of it. 9. question on lens

I owned 2 lenses. Afs 18-105 & afs 70-300 VR. F stop is 3.5 biggest. 18 mm seem adequate for me but 11 mm would be ideal for tight indoor apace. I shoot almost anything and am toying with the idea of switching my 18-105 with a 17-50 mm lens with a lower f stop of 2.8. Would the increase in aperture be of importance and would I be handicap with the 50-70 gap due the the change? Or should I keep the existing lenses and but a 50 mm f1.8 prime? What is my best option without breaking...

  11. Man sues wedding photographer and demands a reshoot!

OK: Filing a lawsuit aimed at forcing your wedding photographer to pay to recreate your wedding so that the last dance and bouquet toss can be captured on film is weird enough, right? But when you've since been divorced, you've got to figure there's something else going on there. "I need to have the wedding recreated exactly as it was," Todd Remis testified in a deposition, the New York Times reports, "so that the remaining 15 percent of the wedding that was not shot can be shot." ...

In one way it was surprising that Michael Clark didn't have any surfing photos. He'd photographed climbers, mountain bikers, kayakers, mountaineers—but about a year ago when he was working on his new book, Adventure Photography: Capturing the World of Outdoor Sports, he realized he had no surfers. ...

  15. iPhone Camera Improvements Over Time (with S95 and 5D2 Comparisons!)

Chanced upon this page while browsing the net. Makes me wonder if point-and-shoots are really necessary today! Seems like if you've got a suitably high-end smartphone (not just the iPhone), compact cameras aren't going to give you any improvements in quality for casual shots. For anything else though, you can't beat larger sensors =)

  16. Lens and Camera Variation

It's known by anyone who looks out for second-hand deals that some lenses tend to have poor quality control and will need to be callibrated before use with your camera body. But how true is this? What constitutes a 'bad copy' of a lens? This article by Roger Cicala (of lensrentals.com) truly is an excellent read, and might make you rethink how you view certain lenses (or second-hand buying as a whole).

  29. Photography Tips - Five Ideas To Help Photographers Get Connected To Their Subjects

If you are having trouble making compelling portraits, the problem might be as simple as you dont know what you are doing. Okay thats a play on words. What I really mean is you arent connecting (emotionally) with your subject. Too often, the practice of photography is a sterile, non-personal pursuit. The subject of the portrait stands at one end of the studio, emotionally naked and exposed, while the photographer stands at the other, often hiding behind the camera. Here are some...
