It's the Formula 1 season yet again at the only night race on the F1 calender. F1 comes to town to Singapore for hte 4th time since 2008 at the Marina Bay street circuit. With only a few races remaining, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing team has the chance to be crowned the world champion if he wins the race and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso doesn't finish better than 5th. Here's a short quite to shutter bugs on the corners which they can grab good angles of the million dollar cars speeding around the Singapore street circuit. The above image is at turn 13, where cars passes the Anderson bridge before making a left turn onto Esplanade bridge.
Turn 3 of the circuit, where braking strips can form a nice foreground.
At the Pandang, the Supreme court makes a nice background in the twilight.
Turn 2, coloured street lights make a nice composition to the livery of the Force India's car.
My personal favourite corner, turn 7, possibly the corner with the best chance of overtaking.
Turn 22/23, the final corners of the circuit before leading back to the start/finish straight.
The map of the street circuit. Do click on it for a larger version. Or visit Singapore Singtel Grand Prix 2011 official website for further detalis.!
Tips for shooting the Grand Prix, lenses ~200mm are recomended. Use manual mode, ISO ~100-400 as the lights are pretty bright, Aperture of ~f/4.0 to f/8.0 depending on the lighting conditions. Shutter of ~1/30s or so to get a panning effect. Monopod is recommended! Shoot loads, and keep trying!
